Ok guys, the deal on the 06 gixxer fell thru. However, I found a new toy!!! A friend at work has an 07 R6, it's charcoal gray, never down, 9800 miles. He put a tinted windscreen on it, m4 exhaust, led signals, fender eliminator, and new tires. He's asking for his payoff at $4500. What do you guys think?

4500 is not that bad. I have an 08 its a love/hate kinda thing. See if he will let you ride it around first, its a pretty extreme bike, the 06-07 are really dead in the mid range

4500 is a steal, book on this thing is 5900!!!

Well i spoke to the owner of the R6 today... He actually owes around 4200 so it sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. The only thing the bike needs is an oil change. I'm looking to take possession of it on Tuesday.

Chatting about most bike-specific topics other than our ninjettes goes here. Nothing's keeping us from chatting about ninjette topics anywhere else on the board.

I'm not a big Yamaha fan, but that bike looks sick. Might have to consider an R6 as my next bike now lol

Looks good! How are you liking it? Will you keep the Ninja also?

The ninja is for sale, but im not advertising (wink wink). The R6 is very easy to ride. Rider position actually feels more natural than the ninja. Still feeling it out. It is very powerful, its got K&N and yoshi exhaust. I love my ninja, but the R6 seems much easier to turn. I got my ninja for sale for 2900. The R6 is lowered 3", which makes it feel more apt to turn in.

Anyone know of anything to look out for on these bikes?

This is Shane (not Kit)

I bought an 06 R6 new from the dealership (Friend was the Sales Manager)

They are amazing bikes. I used it for a track bike for 3 years. Bought the Ohlins TTX rear shock, racetech internals up front, V4 GPR Damper and gear indicator. The bike was rock solid reliable. Just be sure to treat it with respect and do the oil changes and check the valves when the intervals are due.

The harder I learned to ride that bike the better it worked. I highly recommend you take it to the track.

Quick Shot of me riding my old R6. Great bike.
