I am looking for a one piece leather suit for track day events when the time goes around and was wondering about how they should fit. I'm 5'11" and about 155 lb with scrawny legs. I was thinking I was maybe like a size 42 or 44 and I know size varies with different brands.

1. Are leathers suppose to fit you snug?
2. Are you supppose to be able to stand up straight without having to fight the suit to do so?

The brands I am considering are Bilt, Fieldsheer Radar or Flex, or whatever that is used within my 300-400 price range.

1. yes, but they stretch where it counts
2. no, its not suppose to be comfy, you will be naturally slouched forward in them

remember, suits are sewn to be non-restrictive in a tucked position :thumbup:

at your body specs, i suggest RS taichi (jap sizing, not euro) or dainese
they offer pretty slim suits :)

or spartan leathers for a fully custom fit

I'm 5'10", 150 lbs with totally average (maybe a little skinny in the chest) torso/legs/arms and the dainese size 40 fits me perfectly, maybe could be a tad skinnier around the waist. The size 38 exhibited some serious moose knuckle and the 42 was too loose everywhere. I like my leathers to have minimal wrinkling or extra material, just feels more secure that way, but that's just me. I'm sure some people like them looser. Also, standing up straight will be difficult in a correctly-fitted suit. These are made for riding motos, not attending proms :p

Go to a shop and try some on to see what brand's cut fits you best!

I thought I update this thread. I picked up a Dainese one piece which I come to find out it's the 1997 model which was in rather awesome condition considering its age. Cleaned and conditioned it up with Lexol. It's a size 40. This thing fits like a glove with the exception of the thigh areas only because I lost mass. I may have room for a back protector but it may be pushing it. I will definitely need some compression long sleeves and pants to get in and out of this suit.

If you can fit in a chest protector, get one.

ya and see how it fits sitting on the bike, since thats what really matters!

Fits great on the bike. I did a few rides with it to break-in the suit. Being as old as it is, the suit still breathes!

a must on the back protector ,,where i live, some tracks wont let you ride with out one
