Don't know where he got them, but it looks loike Reza SS in Indonesia uses them to gain more room/clearance for certain stunts and it holds a second hand brake on the left side.

I've been interested in doing this myself, it appears you need to drill two holes in your triple tree clamp so you can mount some of these.

i have also found this, but its not in production yet apparently

the second option would be more ideal, but it is not available.

one thing to think about when drilling holes to mount the first option, is that there is bracing under the triple tree clamp that was cast/forged when the part was created, so its not a flat surface under there. I'm currently in the process of deciding what i want to do with that situation.

Go on ebay and pickup some virago xv1100 risers. I used them to put drag bars on my bike. Also if you go with dirty bars there is a good chance you'll need longer cables. The bars themselves can be picked up at most sportbike dealerships.

can you post some pics of your setup. particularly under your top triple tree clamp, i want to see where you drilled your holes for the risers.

The virago riser basically just has a stud sticking out the bottom of it, so I drilled the most forward stock clipon mounting holes a little bigger and bolted it on.

thanks nick!

that looks like it would work just fine for me, i wonder if i need to switch with a new gen upper clamp to get the flush bolt holes, or if i can fab up some spacer.

Buy standard dirt bike mx mounts
Drill holes larger and new holes
Mount your favorite bar
You might need new longer brake lines

I used the aftermarket risers, available on Amazon. They're good because you can insert an internal-drive hex head bolt from the top, which is good because space for a bolt is tight underneath. You can then tighten the risers with a hex driver from the top, and a wrench held on the bolt below.

Here's ours:https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2834/10521621193_00d2d176e3_c.jpg

I like the idea of bolting a plate to the existing handlebar attachment area (don't know why I didn't do that). It would add a little weight, but would allow easier use of a variety of handlebar mounts, and lower ones, too - just drill four holes in the right place, and any $20 riser set will work.

Okay, but more seriously.....
Are there any of these in existence that do (or could) use same size bolt as the stock handlebar mounts?? Part #92002-1178 says "Bolt,Socket,8x20" so that's 8mm diameter, right?? Most of these look to use 10mm+ bolts...

Would it really hurt that much to use 8mm bolts?
http://www.1tail.com/productImages_thumbBIG/158198

It'd be cool to be able to do this without drilling, as I haven't the tools for drilling....

Yes, 8mm bolts. I doubt any off the shelf clamps can be used with the stock bolt holes due the angle they are at. You could have custom risers made, but that won't be cheap at all.

Drilling to fit generic risers is pretty easy. Ask around and borrow a drill??

You can get them in either 7/8" or 1-1/8" clamp. Here's 7/8":

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06W9G99Q3 - silver
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G1JL2T8/ - black

Then pick from large selection of 7/8" bars.

Going with 7/8" is better because all mine levers fit correct?
Or do stock levers fits on 1 1/8" handlebars?

DannoXYZ
January 25th, 2022, 01:08 PM
No, you'll need new levers and controls for 1-1/8".
Yeah, sticking with factory 7/8" is easiest.
Depending upon where controls end up, you may need longer carb cables.
