View Full Version : I want to paint my windscreen Bosgarage57 July 13th, 2011, 07:44 AM Hey guys, I currently have a black windscreen, and I want to paint it silver to go along with my bike. Has anyone done this before? I've seen people painting their other windscreesn from clear to black, but I dunno how black to silver will look. Also has anyone made a shield out of plexiglass for a 250? I really just want a silver shield and cant find one :( dubojr1 July 13th, 2011, 08:10 AM Painting it is your perfect solution. Most normally paint the inside of them black so the face of it is still "glossy" looking. Pick a color and paint away. EsrTek July 13th, 2011, 02:02 PM Is your current black windscreen painted black, or came as black/smoked color? If painted, it maybe possible to strip it off via paint thinner, although I'm not sure if that will have ill effects on plastic of windscreen. Your best bet is probably get a new/used windscreen (OEM Clear) then paint that silver. Bosgarage57 July 13th, 2011, 03:07 PM No its the stock smoke kawi screen, I think Im gonna go get some plexiglass (noone around has lexan) and try it, should be cheap to try before I screw up my windscreen and have to shell out $40 for a new one.
