So far I haven't had any problems with it. Well wait I take that back. I lost the screw that 'locks' into the mount. It clasps and stays in fine. It is supposed to be safe with that screw in so you can leave it on the bike. I never used it to begin with. I always take the Garmin in with me inside if I leave the bike.

The mapping tools for the computer take a bit of understanding but they are easy enough.

I've got the Zumo 550 on another bike, and like it as well. Like you, I found the security screw pretty much useless and tossed it not long after the first ride. Doesn't provide much extra security when in most cases a determined thief could just take the whole setup off the bike anyway. I take all the gadgets off the bike and carry them with me when leaving it out of sight for anything more than a minute or two.
