Cool! I never get to be the center of attention but as much as I love it, i'm a generous guy... This time we can make fun of you Tri.

Btw, at some point I'd like to have a meet up at point reyes. Cool location and not that far from SF.

Pt Reyes sounds good, but can be quite a long ride as well.

We can meet somewhere, take a leisurely ride up to point reyes, have a picnic or whatever, I'm sure they have burgers around there, and probably do some minor walking/hiking and head out. I love exploring.

Actually, they don't have much in the way of food up there. It's all park and beaches. Stinson Beach is an excellent place to stop and grab a bite. Then head out to PT Reyes.

Sure... or picnic. =) I wonder if they bbq pits. We can make hot dogs or something.

IIRC, the two places we went to, the light house and the beach, had no bbq pits.

The oyster place up there is great.

Right in Inverness near Point Reyes. It's at risk of closing soon, so it would be good to go before that happens if at all possible. There's also the Station House Cafe right in Point Reyes, which is a great breakfast or lunch place depending on the ride timing.

HMB is fine by me. I haven't really eaten there ever. Its always been just a gas stop for me :p

I'm in for HMB (duh)! I can't do Sat 9/24 either but could likely be talked into any other date.

I will actually be gone 9/30-10/2, so it looks like we're narrowing it down to 9/10 or 9/17. 9/3 is this week and that's not a lot of notice.

Carolyn, did your hubby get a new bike yet?

I have September 25th off. It's my birthday and I'd love to spend it riding with you guys!

HMB this time and we can do Pt Reyes another time. It is farther and would probably require a little more planning.

As for date, 09/03 is too soon. Whole day is booked for me already.

+1 on Carolyn's hubby... would be great to have him come out with us again.

Sept 25th sounds pretty damn good though right? I knew you'd agree

Is this a social focused event with riding mixed in or a riding focused event with social mixed in? :D

He's keeping the V-Strom (salvage title) but it needs some work before he can ride it again.

But he still has the DR-Z400!

Haha, they're just messing with you. It's a social event. We all meet at the restaurant and have lunch. What you guys do after that is up to you. Some people like to go cruising. I will be heading up to Skyline via 92, down to 84 and head home that way. We did do pictures last time, so maybe not this time around unless you guys want to.

Haha really? It'll be a blast and it's a no pressure environment. It's not like we're gonna haze the newcomers.

Haha so you want the ratio to fall more on the riding. That can be arranged. Keep your eye's peeled.

Hi all, new south bay rider here, I'm in if the date you guys decide on works for me!

I think we'll shoot for 9/17.

If that ends up being the date i'll have to pass. I have a wedding to go to that afternoon. Unless of course I can make it there and back before... hmmm.

CThunder-blue

I can theoretically do 9/25 but not 9/17. Don't plan around me though as the ol' body doesn't like it when I make solid plans.

CThunder-blue

I don't really do Sundays, but you guys are more than welcome to do it on 9/25.

setasai
September 6th, 2011, 03:24 PM
What time is the wedding?

I think it's around 4pm so I should be able to make it out there for lunch and head back home with enough time to wash up and change.

Bay area is just a skosh far for me but I'm game to try it at least once. Of course you can come over to the east side of the Central Valley where we have a plethora of great riding roads, well populated with good places to eat.

PlaneGuy
September 6th, 2011, 09:42 PM
Have any of you ridden to the top of Mt. Diablo? That looks like a fun ride.

Alex
September 6th, 2011, 09:45 PM
Yup, Mt. Diablo is a fun ride. Mt. Hamilton is a bit more fun IMO; there is much less development up in that area. I've done a couple "2-mountain" rides in the past, where we hit both of them in a day.

PlaneGuy
September 6th, 2011, 09:50 PM
Mount Diablo and Mount Hamilton ... hmmm. Looks like fun. I have flown over both many times but never stopped. :)

The only problem for me is that I am starting 25mi E of Sacramento. Oh well, it can be a way to work up to my SS1K. :D

So, can we have a recap of the details? Where, when, where to, how long, food/no food, etc.?

I apologize if this has been done and I missed it. Just trying to learn the ropes.

Thanks!

It seems more people can make it on 9/25, so that's the date it should be set. Since I'm not able to make it, you guys can decide on the time, or keep it at 11am.

Revised date in new thread. Same plans.
