No scratches or anything to me except my ASIS where the handlebar took a stab at me.
choneofakind September 1st, 2011, 07:06 PM oh no Skippii!! glad you're alright besides that rasberry!!!!
you thinking about fixing it or replacing it?
Skippii September 1st, 2011, 07:11 PM Replace? The thought never crossed my mind!
(I'm not sure why I have comprehensive insurance on it....I guess I'd replace it if it got stolen...)
Alex September 1st, 2011, 07:12 PM Skippii! Sorry to see this. You OK?
hoodadooda September 1st, 2011, 07:13 PM So many zipties :(
Skippii September 1st, 2011, 07:23 PM So many zipties :(
Anyone who doesn't carry 10 zipties in their toolkit for situations like this should seriously consider doing so.
Skippii! Sorry to see this. You OK?
Oh, I'm fine. I'm writing up a long ride report for the weekend, so details will follow soon. I was doing 15 mph on the on-ramp to I-64, it was dark, and my faceshield had gotten badly scratched up the day but like an idiot I figured I'd make it home before getting a new one. Never even saw the gravel until I tasted it.
Gloves, armored jacket and pants, MX boots, Snell helmet, my racing back protector--not a scratch (on me) except where the bar hit me.
Skippii September 1st, 2011, 07:24 PM The bike, on the other hand, has an amazing amount of damage for such a small drop.
hoodadooda September 1st, 2011, 07:38 PM better to have them than not... good idea
glad to see you're not too roughed up
Skippii September 1st, 2011, 09:08 PM ya know, you kinda beat the poop outta your bike. think you'll get much for when you trade it in? :D
I don't "beat the poop" out of it, I just invite situations that provide opportunities for upgrades!
Honestly, it's kinda tempting to tell insurance about it, and let them total it and get me another in mint condition. They'd probably let me buy back this one with a salvage title for less than $500. They might actally give me even more money, considering the stupid amount of upgrades of got in this one (37mm forks FTW!)
niKiStixx September 1st, 2011, 09:21 PM my hip looks exactly like yours! i hit a curb going 50 mph and my hip was bruised, exactly the same way...weird. although i also have some scapes up my forearm. glad you are ok though!
oblivion007 September 1st, 2011, 09:24 PM good to see you're not roughed up but I hear ya man
I'm starting to encounter a lot of gravely turns for some reason. I'm not sure if the city put the gravel there or it just collects like dirt does in certain turns.
bluepoof September 1st, 2011, 09:48 PM I don't "beat the poop" out of it, I just invite situations that provide opportunities for upgrades!
Glad to hear you're OK! That looks painful though. :( Hope it heals quickly!
Skippii September 2nd, 2011, 02:35 AM Didn't hurt at all. Well, only when I sleep on it (I always sleep on my side...never could sleep on my back.)
Bosgarage57 September 2nd, 2011, 04:59 AM Dang Skippii, hate to see that, but glad you're ok. I'd def consider turning it into the Insurance, thats what you pay for right?
LazinCajun September 2nd, 2011, 08:04 AM Yowch, that's some nasty looking gravel. Glad you're (relatively) ok!
Jesse8931 September 2nd, 2011, 08:12 AM Glad your ok.

AeroXtasy September 2nd, 2011, 08:30 AM Glad you're alright!
Looks like you came out lucky.
gfloyd2002 September 3rd, 2011, 05:23 AM Great license plate. I'm going to go put zipties under my seat right now. wtg wearing full gear. Also wtg riding slow enough not to have created problems for the gear.
I took a similar low speed spill over a mossy bridge in poor late. The wet bit was in a shadow late in the day and I couldn't see it, or the slime that was inside it, from the sunlight. I still take the blame for it, obviously I needed to watch closer and know my roads, but sometimes the roadrash Gods simply demand to be fed.
For those times, we wear our gear and keep our speeds reasonable. I say well done to you, sir.
