Heated gear - it won't hurt your battery at all as long as you are reasonable about what you connect and how long you have it on full blast. Any of the accessories once the bike is running aren't running off of the battery anyway, they are powered by the charging system unless you try and draw more than it can put out. In that case your battery will slowly discharge until it either runs out, or you lower the load drawn so the alternator can bump it back up to full charge.

We have somewhere between 80 and 100 watts of spare juice on our bikes (details here (http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31087)), which isn't a tremendous amount, but it's sufficient. A Gerbing heated jacket liner is right around there when on full blast. But you only need to put it on full blast for a few minutes to warm it up, then you can dial it back to quarter power or less, even in the coldest conditions. If you do ride in the cold, once you try heated clothing you'll never go back. :thumbup:
