-----------------

Dani Pedrosa's domination at Sepang continues, the Repsol Honda rider comfortably topping the timesheets during the third session of free practice. But Pedrosa did not lead a Repsol Honda clean sweep on Saturday morning: Marco Simoncelli put his San Carlo Gresini Honda into 2nd, splitting the Repsols and bumping Andrea Dovizioso down into 3rd, with Casey Stoner only managing the 4th fastest time. The Ducatis found a burst of speed overnight, Nicky Hayden setting an impressive 5th fastest time, fractionally behind Stoner and under half a second behind the leader Pedrosa. Alvaro Bautista continues to impress on the Rizla Suzuki, taking 6th during FP3, and finishing ahead of Colin Edwards, fastest Yamaha on the Monster Tech 3 bike. Valentino Rossi profited from Ducati's improvement, jumping up to 8th after ending the day in 13th on Friday.

John Hopkins was forced to withdraw, after the screws and plates holding his injured finger together came apart and he is unable to bend his fingers. Ironically, Hopkins injured his finger at Brno, the last time he appeared on the grid as a wildcard, meaning Sepang is the second time he has been unable to race the Rizla Suzuki.
