If you haven't visited the site in a few days, it's easy to catch up on what you missed with just a few clicks. You can click the Unread Posts (http://www.ninjette.org/forums/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=22) link at the top right, or you can pull down the View New Posts menu to do the same thing. Once the search results come back, all threads with posts you haven't seen are listed in chronological order. Now, just right click on the new post arrows to the left of each thread:

and choose to open each thread in a new tab or new window. This way all threads that you haven't seen are now all open, right to the last post you read within that thread. When you're done reading everything, or if you just want to start from scratch and just mark everything read, you can do that as well; it's the last selection in the View New Posts menu.

These features work phenomenally well for a board that has limited traffic, like ninjette.org so far. May not be as useful on boards that are very, very, busy; but until then it will work great for us. Even if you don't use the Unread Post searches, those new post arrows are still useful when just browsing the forums. Clicking on them opens the thread and brings you right to where you last left off reading that thread. If you haven't opened the thread before, it puts you right at the top.

Another way to see where new posts are is to look at the icon next to a particular subforum. If it has this icon: 89, that forum has posts within it that you haven't read yet. If it has this icon: 90, there are no new posts for you within that forum. If you want to quickly mark all posts as read within a subforum, just doubleclick on the orange icon and it will immediately change that icon to the green one.

Ping me if you have any questions.
