Actually it work oddly enough. I have never personally used it, because well, just look at it....but my dad uses it whenever he's getting sick. He has some cheap drugstore version of it that he got on a sale for a couple of bucks and decided to try it. Swears it works.

I'll just stick to blowing my nose normally.

HK... That was great! The best part was she did not even flinch... If I was around a bunch of friends (who paid for it) I would give it a shot... I was sceptical at first of the "Ear funnels" that clean out ear wax... they work and kind of fun too.....

I use a nette pot. For allergies and colds. I highly recommend them. be sure to put a little salt in the warm water so it doesn't burn. This idea has been around forever. really
relaxes the membrains and cleans out the pollen, molds. way better then tossing down pills.

I have ear candled also over the years. don't catch yourself on fire. that would suck. But you can hear better!

I do all this because I have sinus/ ear problems, not because I am into the crazy stuff. After so many years you try alot.

Best treatment for a cold that I have found is as follows: An 8oz glass of hot lemonade. Drop in two Alka Selzers. Drink down in one fell swoop. Immediately follow with two shots of Rum. Wrap yourself in a blanket and go to bed. You will experience a soaking sweat and have a great night`s sleep. When you wake up your cold will be history. I used that method with great sucess when I was a Medic in the army.

It does indeed work, I just make a home solution with warm water, a pinch of baking soda, and some non-iodized salt. When I'm severely congested I use this cocktail and just pour a little into my hand and snort it. You'd be surprised at the junk that comes out :D

Same principle as how the gas flows out of your gas tank ...... vacuum (actually an air pressure differential)!

Yea its called Bernoulli's principle.:D

Okay, I don't get alex's post on bunnies with pancakes on their heads. Someone explain.

Neti pots rock. I've used them before when my allergies bug me. It clears them out quite nicely. I swear by mine.

Cheap drug store version made with plastic, but it works very well!

I always use the "neti pot" when I'm constipated. The thing is wonderful. The spray on the wall, not so much.

The best part is laughing when the next person sticks it up their nose.

They work surprisingly well. Ask your primary care physician for a "free sample". Most carry them but we run out a lot in the offices I work at

Make sure to use boiled or otherwise sterilized water...

Two dead in Louisiana after unclean water used in neti pots (http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/16/two-dead-in-louisiana-after-unclean-water-used-in-neti-pots/?hpt=hp_t2)

I use the bottle not the neti pot to flush my nasal passages. You can make your own solution just but non-iodized salt.

I do this in the shower and it works well. I just need to do it more often.

yeah, but don't use it too often. I know some people use it every night because it helps them sleep (it does wonders for my acid reflux) but I definitely wouldn't use it on a daily basis. It can be pretty dangerous because you're kind of washing away all the good bacteria in your sinuses. That snot is there for a reason and people wonder why they get infections.

Mucus is there to trap foreign particles and ****. Guess what happens when you get rid of it?
