View Full Version : not crash but fell
ProdigyRacingLA March 21st, 2012, 06:43 PM So I just got home after a nice long ride in sunny LA ( Traffic and all)
I got home and noticed a car in the drive way, thought I could slip past on the side but no room.. so I decided to take it on the grass, at around 3mph. Well, that was a bad idea.
The tires slipped and I went down with the bike. I fell off to the right side and my frame slider dug into the grass. How embarassing. Haha. So I picked up ASAP, checked damage if any. ( there wasn't.. yes!). And had to hit the starter a few times to get the bike sipping gas again.
Main point: never ride in grass. Walk it if you must!
Thnx for reading, just thought id share my noob moment.

EthioKnight March 21st, 2012, 07:45 PM riding the bike on anything other than a paved road is treacherous. I've ridden mine on grass, gravel, sand and unpaved back country roads...I've been lucky so far...but if you have to go off-road, remember to go slow with as little pressure on the handle bars as possible. Good to read you and your bike came out of this unscathed :D
saxnbass March 21st, 2012, 08:19 PM If you must go off-road, ask Nick for his bike.

akima March 22nd, 2012, 12:14 PM how are you supposed to use the rear brake if your feet are out?
You bring your foot back in to brake, duh :rolleyes:

Me too. I've never had a problem with it sliding or tires slipping out. I occasionally cut through grassy areas too. I don't know what you guys are doing wrong >>;

Exactly. Since the car was I'm the driveway, I decided to be adventurous, being that i had just came back from my buddies house who just bought a dual sport. I was going crazy on his bike and maybe my brain thought my ninja had similar abilities.. I was wrong. The tires slipped on me. Next time I'm ridding it into the garage from the neighbors lawn. His grass is dead and dry!! More traction, than nice lush green lawn. Haha
Hopefully he doesnt see me ridding in and out on his crap lawn xD
