What do I carry?

Posted April 27th, 2014 at 12:57 AM by NevadaWolf
Updated August 8th, 2014 at 09:55 AM by NevadaWolf (Adding pictures)

Been asked what I carry for my long distance trips, so thought I would start a list here. My brain thinks "Nose to Tail" so that is the order I'm listing things here. I'll also include what I carry on me as it too goes towards my trips.

This is may everyday carry, which can cover me if I end up with an unexpected overnight somewhere. Typically only ride weekends, so a two day is what I plan for.

Cockpit:

GPS: I have a DeLorme PN-60 mounted beside my gauges to show elapsed time, distance, route, or any other location specific data I need. Mounted by a RAM cradle.

Phone: mounted on the dash using a SlipGrip mount, this provides music, directions if routing via Google, weather data, or phone calls.

Traveling so much has shown me twisty roads all over the country. Here is where I attempt to record them to share with others!

Arizona

California

Colorado

Idaho

Nevada

New Mexico

Oregon

Utah

West Virginia

Plus I also have some common routes I play on that just give me a place to play, round my tires off, and spend the day enjoying life on the back of a motorcycle.

Super fun routes

Heated grip wrap

Race Fairings for track day

Shogun Frame Sliders

Tank pads.

I like the look of headlamp covers.

HID headlights 35w/bulb is a lot better than 55w/bulb.

Yoshimura Rearsets

Adjustable pegs vs the above brackets

Rebuild!

Posted September 21st, 2012 at 10:18 AM by NevadaWolf
Updated January 6th, 2013 at 03:10 PM by NevadaWolf (Updating)

Let's see if I don't get lazy and try maintaining a record of this rebuild...

Backstory:

Bought a 2012 candy lime green Ninjette in May and decided in July to try out track days. First real track day was in August and my second was September 15th. After the sighting laps, we were to go around again practicing breaking and finding reference points. Instead, I crashed coming out of turn 3.

ATGATT saved my hide, but the bike didn't fair so well.

Breakage: (to be added to as problems discovered)

Right rear cowling: gone
Tail pipe: scuffed
Foot peg and break level: scraped
Black right panel under seat: broken into two
Right front fairing: top section broken off, scraped
Right front turn signal: gone
Front cowling: windshield mount broken off, cracked and broken on right side
Front cowling support bracket: bent and twisted down and to the left.
Handlebars: loose...
