DIY: CBR 250 Hugger install on 08+ Ninja 250r
Very nicely done sir, I have already pick mine up, to give it a go on a pre-gen.
I also have done the Suzuki Bandit 1200 chain guard.
Here's my write up on the modification,
https://www.ninjette.org/forums/blog.php?b=8358
I'm going to give this try but add a few changes to incorporate both the CBR, and Bandit guards, and hopefully have the best of both worlds, stay tuned folks.Posted December 24th, 2014 at 01:42 PM by Ghostt -

Slapped this on my bike today quick and am really happy with how it turned out/looks.
I did not do exact same as this DIY. I finagled the hugger on the bike and looked at where and what was going on. I only made 2 small cuts/trims. I did a similar trim on the brake side in the back but i did not cut as much, just vertical cut so plastic clears brake line holder thing. I then drilled small hole close to end there, zip tied hugger to the brake line holder that i just cut to clear. then used existing hole to zip tie to brake line just above. Zip ties are very hard to see and really anchor it down.
I then zip tied forward hole on brake side around very front of swing arm and it is hidden by the brake mech and rear sets, again very hard to see.
I made one cut on the inside where the hugger starts to make a 90 degree angle on the chain side. I did this so the straight part of the hugger (nose to tail direction) would fit into the stock chain guard holder bracket there on the inside top of swing arm. Cutting means it fits in bracket and you can still line up screw hole at the rear near the sprocket. Put that screw in and then the front piece for now i just let hang down on the outside of the swing arm. I have not yet decided what to do with it. Might keep it there as it helps keep it away from the chain.
But that was it, 1 hole, 2 cuts 2 zip ties and it is solid as a rock and zip ties are almost invisible.
Really happy, so much better than spending $80-$130
It's really a great fitPosted March 22nd, 2014 at 06:23 PM by subxero

Just that one bolt and the zip ties on the other side. Its actually pretty sturdy. You can add more zip ties if you like though.Posted November 22nd, 2012 at 09:35 AM by Gorilla25 -

Hey...pic 16 down...how did you attach the plastic part, closest to the gear shifter? Other than the one part that you can actually screw right into it....did you have to use zip ties on the whole thing?Posted November 22nd, 2012 at 02:18 AM by Kstorm21 -

yep. $12 and some change. thats why a lot of us go with this mod instead of ordering some other one that easily costs 10x more. AND this hugger supports up to a 150 or 160 rear tire IIRC..if you fancy such a big rear tire anyways.Posted July 7th, 2012 at 07:19 PM by Gorilla25 -

Order it from dealer it your best bet! Do not buy it from any of those websites selling motorcycle parts.
Find a local Honda dealer and order it.
That's what I did and I only paid $12.80.Posted July 7th, 2012 at 10:55 AM by NinjaBoyEddy -

@PsHYk: I ordered mine from the local honda motorcycle dealeeship. You can either do that or order from a website, but shipping might suck, hence why i went to a local dealeeshipPosted July 7th, 2012 at 09:12 AM by Gorilla25 -
