2. Responsibilities
2.1. Members will conduct themselves in a respectful manner. This is not to say that arguments and disagreements between Members are not permitted, simply that a level of respect is to be maintained in doing so. Members' posts should not contain malicious personal attacks, flaming, baiting, trolling, e-sniping, e-stalking, indirect attacks, and other such activities that are not conducive to a positive and productive environment. Personal threats will not be tolerated, and may result in a suspension, if not a perma-ban. Such posts will be acted on by interpretation of admins and/or moderators.
2.2. When personal disputes arise between Members they will take their squabble to Private Message (PM) when requested by Staff to do so. This does not apply to differences of opinion from which others will benefit (arguments pertaining to motorcycling technique, style, history, etc.); it is specifically targeted at those who actively engage in violation of Section 2.1. Such PM's are not to be posted publicly, nor will they be moderated.
2.3. Members shall conduct themselves respectfully when in dispute with an admin or moderator. Verbal abuse of the staff may result in additional suspension.

2.8. Graphic images depicting violence are discouraged, with the exception of those that serve an educational purpose in the motorcycling community. Those that satisfy the educational clause should be linked and not directly visible in a thread. This link, and if possible the thread title, should carry a warning that such material may be offensive to some.
2.9. Images found to be in violation of Sections 2.7 and 2.8 will be handled in the following manner:
a. Images depicting strong graphic or questionable ethical content will be converted to links. Those links will be labeled with a brief description of what is to be expected if the link is clicked.
b. Images deemed entirely inappropriate (pornography, graphic violence) will be removed.
2.10. In order to ensure that people are able to find what they're looking for it is sometimes necessary to move threads from one forum to another. Posts made to inappropriate forums will be relocated. Members are encouraged to post informative thread titles that provide other Members insight into the content. Vague thread titles are subject to editing for clarity. Duplicate posts/threads spread around the site may be deleted/consolidated.
2.11. Threads posted about current racing results where TV coverage is imminent shall not contain information about the result and will have the word "SPOILER" in the title. The Moto-News section has its thread titles blanked on the main forums page for just this very reason.
2.12. Members should not post copyrighted materials without permission of author or photographer as applicable. Links to other publications or materials are allowed along with a short introduction to the material.

There is much more leeway on this in the Marketplace section than in the other areas of the site. Repeat offenses may lead to suspension and/or removal. Those who have purchased paid advertising here on ninjette.org (through google adsense) are given even more leeway in promoting their business however they see fit. (including posting specials for ninjette.org members).
2.15. The Marketplace forums have additional requirements to help protect ninjette.org members. These include a minimum-post requirement (currently 25 posts) and a minimum time (30 days on site) before being able to offer items for sale to other members. Users may not miscategorize "for sale" threads in other forums to bypass these requirements. Marketplace-specific rules and guidelines are found in this announcement at the top of each marketplace subforum.
2.16. Any gray areas not explicitly covered within the TOS are up to the Admins and/or Moderators to address in a fashion protecting the interest of the ninjette.org community.

The suspension tier is as follows: 7 days for the first violation, then 14, 21, 30, 60, & 90. A seventh offense will result in a permanent ban from the forum. An appeal to the Admins may be placed in writing within 60 days by the banned Member. Duration of suspension and number of offenses may be changed at the discretion of Admins and/or Moderators on a case-by-case basis.
4.4. At any time Admins and/or Moderators may close or remove any thread, especially if they deem it has turned from a discussion into an argument.
