Well i bought the mount then just cut off the rubber mounting strap and just slid the metal clamp inside where the old rubber strap goes through when mounting it. Let me know if you want some...

I'm pretty sure with proper tools and a little talent manipulating those metals, it would make a cleaner look but since i painted mine black the bad metal work that i did wasn't noticeable

Well it doesn't come with liners so im pretty sure you will be cold in it as it does vent well but you can always use a thick hoody over it or get a liner under. It was made for very hot weather.

i probably get flamed for this but i use the harley davidson spray for matte paint i initially bought it for my new 2012 matte black paint finish on my iron 883 but it also works well on my matte...
