Mine is about 4 inches from the beginning of the slip on, i had no problem with the clamp But i just looked at mine it looks like its on a different angle than yours.

Maybe that explains the big size difference in...

Maybe that explains the big size difference in the washers.The 3mm fit perfect.The #4s he gave me were way too big.

I have the same slip on,what a pain in the butt...

I have the same slip on,what a pain in the butt to slide on.It took forever to get it on. Leave it loose till you get the clamp on.I had to muscle it a little bit.

You will love it after you shim it,I used two #3...

You will love it after you shim it,I used two #3 shims on each carb,I have a hmf slip on and it sounds great.
