I'd also check that the needles seated properly. I just shimmed mine and I had to really work to make sure the needles fell into their holes all the way.

BTW, once you get your needles shimmed...

I should have specified, just in 6th gear. If this is what you mean as well, how does your rpm vary? I would think something is wrong if the rpm varies and the gear and road speed remain the same.
