Just a quick note... dyno'ed and the max HP has...
Just a quick note... dyno'ed and the max HP has dropped about 1.5hp from previous but the bike is now running a lot richer than it was. I need to rejet, lean it up and dyno again. It is about 13.5:1...

Teflon Intake Boots
A mechanic told me that if I replace the standard rubber intake boots with teflon boots (that will not deform) the bike will get better aspiration and more power (running Yoshi carbs and no airbox...

Nope... it is simply the air (oxygen) entering...
Nope... it is simply the air (oxygen) entering the secondary air injection igniting the unburned fuel that gets sucked through the carbs by the exhaust when decelerating. The exhaust ports are hot...

Hey thanks. Just did some more reading on secondary air injection. Some people are saying that it doesn't effect performance either way. The main purpose as you probably know is to clean the unburned...

Head and Crankcase Vents
When I bought my bike new these vents were piped to the air box. When I added the Yoshimura carbs the air box was removed (of course). The guy that did the work wanted to block both the crank vent...

Just in case anyone was wondering... I ended up...
Just in case anyone was wondering... I ended up getting the head ported and polished when installing the camshaft (went with their recommendations on both sides). Tried the Arrow exhaust for a while...

Head Specs for use with Nassert Beet Cam

Lighten up the pull on Barnett clutch
I just installed a Barnett clutch and the pull on the level is a little stiff (actually it was stiff before this). Any ideas on how to lighten up the pull on the lever to open it?

Thanks for the additional info. Quite a lot of babble about porting on that web site. Seems this guy is very anti enlarging ports and advocating smaller intake ports for higher intake velocity....
