the kickstand switch is nothing more than a SPST switch that is open when the stand is down.

I have voltmeter tested kickstand it is closed when up and open when down.

I wasn't clear till after I gave up and just put the bulbs.
Not everyone wants to go to the store and get a flasher and find it on their bike and replace it.
