Adaptive Cruise Control on my new Volt has made me a more patient driver, but I feel it's also made me less alert. Since it will just fall in line behind the car ahead of me, it's much less...

I don't see any traces of coolant from above in your pic, but check out Cylinder coolant seal issues to make sure you don't have a leak there.

Cylinder coolant seal issues

Another issue seems to be getting more common on the 400s. The rubber seal for the coolant passage between the crankcase and the cylinder jug can deform, causing a small coolant leak on the front of...

I'm pretty sure you'll never find a 2,000 lumen T10 bulb. A 55W H4 headlight bulb is about 1,100 lumens. A standard 194 bulb should be about 25 lumens.

Budget shock upgrade - GSXR fits the 400 too

The current GSXR shock is nearly a drop-in on the 400, and seems to fit even better than on previous models. I'm sure that an Ohlins, K-Tech, etc. is better, but it's hard to beat the value of a...

Clutch/shifting fix stuff

After about 3,000mi of what I would generally consider fairly easy riding, my '18 started having the common clutch/shifting problems that have been showing up on the 400. Others have seen it after...

My only thoughts are in my first post.

The midpipe seems to be a tad too small for the header pipe. Use the proper tool to expand it a bit - if you don't have one, you can get it from...

I just wanted to point out that the EX500 spring has more coils, so it's actually softer than the PreGen spring. The numbers I've seen are 300lb/in compared to 440lb/in.

I don't have the means to...

As someone who's monkeyed around with several other-model shock swaps on an older little Ninja, and now owns a 400, I can provide some input.

The 400 uses an eye for the bottom shock mount,...

I'm a little late to this party, but I have some relevant info. I swapped a second gen SV650 shock onto my EX500 (pretty similar to the NewGen/300 suspension setup) for a while.

You may want to look into a MOSFET R/R upgrade while you're at it. Due to the design differences, they're more efficient, which translates into higher output at idle, steadier output through the...
