I forgot to update but I bought a 415 bicycle...

I forgot to update but I bought a 415 bicycle chain tool on amazon for $15 and cut the chain. The chain came with a clip link so that's what I used. Rode the bike around and did my first track day...

Even if I do switch to a clip style master link, don't I still need to press the plate on to the chain? How would I go about doing that, Is there a special tool for 415 chains?
