Tachometer Accuracy

We calibrated my tachometer on a fairly new Dynojet Dynometer yesterday and found it to read about 10% high. One cannot calibrate the speedometer on a dyno as the drive is off the front wheel; but...

You are right, after much measurement and calculations I conclude that the slot is not long enough for 15/38 with 106 links. I am running 15/41 at the moment and my measurements indicate...

I recently sold my 2009 650R, for $4,200 but it had rearsets, sports bars and a seat cowl; if I were you I would wait for a 2009 to come up, lots of improvements that year and later years are all the...

I changed from a 650r back to a 250r recently. It was the right decision for me as I am getting pretty old and at 115lbs the 650 was just a bit much bike. The 250 is far worse in stop and go...

Were it the exhaust valves one could surmise that the valves/valve seats were burnt, so allowing the valve stems to rise up and consume all available adjustment space; I would have thought it...

I just traded up from a S40 to a 2007 Ninja 250. The Ninja is superior in every way. The S40 has sorry roadholding, woeful brakes, and anemic engine that runs out of steam far too early, which is...

It was 108 here today, pretty typical for the next few weeks, and some days even higher. Though I strongly believe in proper protection, it is simply impossible to safely wear it in heavy stop and...

Right Sprockets

Your 5th is now the same as the stock 6th! Try WOT in 5th and see how it goes, 13,000 rpm should give you about 105.6 mph true, if you can get there.

Sprocket Change

You can go to 15/41 with the stock 106 link chain. If you go to 15/38 you need a 104. I just did 15/41 and it works real fine. Just going to 43 is not really worth the effort. Remember 1 at the...
