I wouldn't consider the inline 6 in the supra representative of *MOST* gasoline engines. That engine has a legendary status amongst tuners.

My 2 cents...
Most gasoline engines can't handle much more than double their stock horsepower assuming a volumetric efficiency of 70-80% with a maximum volumetric efficiency of about 140-160%...
