I think you can bolt the old gen motor in if you obtain the front motor mounts. The guy who bought my old gen Ninjette actually did the opposite by using a new gen motor and he mentioned that...

Hi, Dont worry about upgrading the forks, start by changing the fork springs (Sonic Springs) and don't worry about valving until you get serious about racing; unless you need a way to spend money....
