Reseting camshaft tensioner need set TDC?

Hi.. i just notice my 11 250r cam chain a bit noisy when closing throttle
Want to try reseting the cam tensioner
Do i need to set 2T tdc first before removing?

And test continuity on the meter cable. its fine too
