If you follow Danno's...

Then the problem is somewhere in the wiring or electrical contacts.

Start tracing power/resistance from the fuse to the dash. Seems as though there is a broken wire or open connection somewhere.

There should be some difference between the voltage with and without the ignition on.

What happens when you hit the button? Does the voltage change? Is...

I vote that the battery is toast.

Doesn't matter how old it is, or that it worked yesterday. They will quit without warning.

What have you done to it mechanically since it ran last?

Have you tried opening the throttle slightly, or all the way, as you are cranking? Doesn't need much fuel, just a decent squirt. All you...

I'd also say there most likely is gunk inside the bowls that is causing the problem. You could have condensation in the gas that is on the edge of freezing as well.

You'd be better to use some gas in a spray bottle. I don't think Carb Cleaner will ignite like Starter Fluid.

In order to get anything into the intake you need to open the throttle and manually...

I guess the question would be - have they degraded from sitting and can you trust them to work as they did years ago?

I'd look them over before installing, but I'd give them a try.

Danno would know better, but I didn't think it would run terrible with the stock jetting and your set-up. Not perfect,...

I tend to think there is something not right in the carbs. Not a fan of DynoJet kits with proprietary numbering.

Seems like you are...

After it's up and running well, just take it for a long ride. If it's still an issue after that I'd be more likely to do something.

Even if you don't decide to reinstall them, they can add to the value of the cycle if you ever decide to part with it.

Youngest son recently moved to New Bern and is stationed at Cherry Point MCAS.

Pulling the cover and looking at the condition of the cams will tell you if the...

Either not assembled correctly, not completely clean, damaged diaphragms, or jetting/adjustments are way off.
