Yeah man, same thing happened to me about 2 years ago. I was on the Florida Turnpike doing about 70 and felt it coming undone. Went to grab it up but it was too late; I saw the thing fly off my back...

I've got the same jacket/back protector combination, but with the black Dainese jacket. I like your white one better.

No no, THIS is probably the funniest thing I've ever read. And it's completely true to boot.

I took my girlfriend on a 75 mile ride to the beach last month on my Ninja 1000 and she was doing all...

I know what you mean. While my Ninja 1000 is in the shop, I'm driving my 250R around in its place, coming to the realization almost immediately how much fun the 250 still is, and how it feels so good...

I definitely don't think that the 250R is a "throwaway bike" for newcomers to the sport. I bought a 2008 model the day I turned 18, with only a minor amount of dirtbike experience to aid me. I laid...

I agree. I don't think that we as 250R owners really take note sometimes of how other bikes really dwarf us. I bought a Ninja 1000 recently and it looks monstrous in comparison. Of course, it IS a...

This bike is bullet proof.

I bought my Ninja 250R in 2008 as my first bike, driving it everywhere since I didn't (and still don't) own a car. Whether it was hot or cold outside, a long and tiring ride or a short and fun ride,...

That's not too bad. Come to think of it I would only get ~170 miles out of a topped off tank. Probably from trying too make up for the lack of speed by winding the hell out of it, lol.

Anyway...

Congrats on the new purchase, man. Sounds like you got a great deal. I personally prefer the 650R but for the steal-of-a-price I would've jumped on it too. What's next for ya?

Lol, not so much "arm-pulling" power as much as "neck pulling". It's got such insane low-end power that anything but minimal power almost send my neck flying back. Yeah, I'm a wuss.

Totally agree, though they look decidedy better than the 2010 Z1000 cans, what with their non-black finish and all. I like the M4 slip-ons offered... and I love the Akrapovic full system and slip-ons...

Amen to that. Grranted your ZX-14 has about sixty ponies up on my newest bike, but I went from the 250R to the 2011 Ninja 1000 and I can't even push myself to take the 250 out anymore. I pull back on...

So I put roughly 21,000 miles on my 2008 Ninja 250R before saving up enough for a decent down payment on the 2011 Ninja 1000. Big jump, but after surviving 20k+ miles on the crazy roads and highways...

Yeah. I park it outside because I live in an apartment complex -- no cover. I've also driven it in some terrential downpour from time to time.
