i don't think the back fire had anything to do...

i don't think the back fire had anything to do with the light problem, it sounds like some wires are crossed or in the wrong place. personally i would just take it all back apart and put it back...

a month isn't really that long, the battery tender and the stabilizer are both good ideas. maybe just put a cover on her so she's not all dusty when you get back?
