Spent yesterday on the 98, putting carbs back on and changing fluids. While clean it I was made an offer I could not refuse. So maybe next weekend the 06 will get some time. 6 down, 3 to go, 2 stay....

Low volts cured. The harness had rubbed on a bolt a damaged a couple of wires. Cleaned that up also replaced the new solenoid again. And she fired up.
Choked is on to start it. about 2600 to 3000...

She runs...:dancecool:... sort off. There is idle problem now. Idles great at 11/1200 for a couple minutes then up to about 3k for a couple minutes, then back down. I have looked of a vacuum leak....

Tried a second new battery with the same result. As triple jim might be right "it's dropping to 6v during cranking, either something is drawing massive, cable-burning current" :(

New battery still trouble

I have bought a new battery for the bike (97 250) I get 3 or 4 cranks out of it and it acts like it is dead. I know it is not the battery because you pull it out take to another bike, fires right up....
