Another method to try

Make sure the two little holes at the bottom of the master cylinder are clear, a toothpick works well. Considering you have been bleeding the system, they're probably clear already.

It looks like that part, which I think is the needle jet, is held in place by the main jet holder which threads upward into the carb body. Worth looking in there.

couple of reasons against

1) our rims are too narrow

2) front tires are designed to resist large braking forces in one direction, not acceleration and braking in two directions

Ottawa winter prep

I drain the carbs and take the battery out and stick it in the basement. Recharge about once a month 'til March.

Another suggestion, works for me

Screw the adjustor and lock ring all the way in, then out a bit until the slots in the adjustor and the lock ring are facing forward. With the cable NOT routed through the adjustor, stick the end...

alternative bleeding technique

This worked for me.

Make sure the two little ports at the bottom of the master cylinder are clear, a toothpick helps. Position the handlebars so that the master cylinder is at the highest point.

The kickstand switch is there to drive the interlock circuitry. If there's no interlock preventing riding with the kickstand down, there's no switch to drive the bulb.

I've put the shock from an '08 onto my '89 EX250...

I've put the shock from an '08 onto my '89 EX250 with good results.

You'll need some form of adjustor to change the preload.

Yes, if there was one with exactly 142 mm of stroke. The next size Sprint is 160mm stroke, 460mm overall length, and wouldn't fit under the fairing.

The damping is adjustable, you can see the knob...
