I have one, it is an Airhawk brand. Works a treat but only needs the smallest amount of inflation for a comfy seat. Too much air makes it wobble on the seat and doesn’t provide much comfort.

Perhaps check that you have the correct wattage and type of globe in the new one. If it’s the incorrect wattage or an LED it may cause what you report to happen.
