The battery tender jr is designed to stay plugged in and trickle charge the battery for long periods of time.

I actually found washing the bike isn't as bad as you think. So much smaller than a car so it only takes me about 10 minutes. I use 1 microfiber cloth and car wash soap and slowly spread it around...
