Mine is a 78 (D1) around 17,000 made world wide, the 80's (D3) had a some things different and there were only about 3,300 made.

It looks like the "retainer" came off of the top...

It looks like the "retainer" came off of the top of the slide, and that the diaphragm is ok. Looks like you could fit it all back together and reglue (?) it. Not sure how those pieces are held...

Make sure the throttle cables are adjusted right, with a little slack between the push-pull cables. If adjusted too tight it will hang when released.
