Hey Invisibill, I found your 2014 thread - Pregen Ricor Intiminator install.
Besides being excellent for the install/results of the Intiminator, it was perfect for my Old/New Gen fork questions.

Will PreGen fork tube fit NextGen lower??

Just picked up a 96 and 09 donor bikes. The 09 is destined to be re-engined with a RD400F motor, with about 70+hp.
The 09 has bent upper fork tubes, but the 96 uppers are straight. Both are 36mm....

Having seen what you have accomplished, well done.
My guess is the "gunk" under the valves was the culprit.

What you did with the rest of the motor was a great exercise. You can now rebuild any...

Actually, it's worse than that.

I have a bunch of Brit stuff that goes from '53 to '72.

I swapped, but the other way

I went the other way.
I traded sides on all the pedal bikes I have owned. It's an easy swap and the levers/perches don't care that they are both "upside down".

Drove me nuts to grab a big handful...

Yes, it can be fixed.
Can you post any pictures of the cuts, from all sides?

I'm an A&P mechanic. Aircraft frames are routinely made and tubing is replaced. There is a large body of info on the...

Squidly does not understand physics...

Squidly was doomed from the beginning. There was no way he stood a chance. It was over before it started.

A 60 c.i. short throw engine can't develop the torque the the 100 c.i. long throw can.

More info from inside...

Yep, you got a mess, but not necessarily a done motor. I looks like you still had lots of coolant left inside. Any left is always better than none.

Is there any coolant in the oil? If there is, it...

Trials bikes = the most fun for the buck

You don't have to buy the latest and greatest to have a hell of a lot of fun.

Since all manufactures have shifted to 4stroke, there are tons of 2stroke trial bikes for sale. A 5-8 year old 2stk is...

Really cheap...

I don't time on track days. That's for checking gearing, etc.
If you really need to know, take a buddy with you: pencil, clipboard and watch. It helps them get into the action.
