If you bounce up and down on the bike, is there any travel at all? If so, then it could be too much of a spring for your weight, bad preload adjustment, or really jammed up valves plus cold weather?...

Definitely. Just take a little bit off at a time with a file from the inside of each lower shock mount leg. You want the fit to be as tight as possible with zero binding.

Did you drill out the upper shock spacer / bearing to 12mm? Or drill out the GSXR upper shock hole to 12mm and then press in the Ninjette OEM spacer / bearing?

I'm doing something similar for next year's race season, as well - building up a cheapo pregen. Based on the list of plans I saw in another thread, you're going to go a bit farther than me in year 1...
