On all my bikes I remove the cover. I like the racer (and the mechanical look) aesthetics of exposed sprockets. The added plus is the ease of cleaning.

Waiting is DEFINTELY Worth it!!!
I received the wheels right at 8 weeks, May 31. But, I'm still waiting for the swing arm cover/hugger, which were shipped separately.
For the wheel's overall price, I couldn't be any happier....
