I've had my Jordan Mesh jacket for over 8 years now. I replaced all the pads (back, elbows, & shoulders) for the 2nd time this past winter. I know a mesh jacket is generally a one and done jacket with lessened protection. I too live in TX and it gets beyond hot here. Without it, I'd ride in just a T-shirt. IMO minimal protection is better than NO protection. A leather jacket certainly offers the best protection and I ride in one for all temps below 85. Anything above, I need more airflow and wear my mesh. Just my 2 cents.
