I agree. I found stud info a while back, I think the best thing would be to drill the cases to accept 10mm studs, you can get a good amount more of torque on those stud nuts vs 8mm studs. Not only that ARP makes a set of 10mm studs that will work perfect for the 250.
The spare motor with the fresh head and gasket is on the bench ready to go into the frame. Stock tq is 23lbs on the 8mm head bolts. I went in increments of 5lbs up to 30lbs total. maybe a little extra pressure will keep the head gasket in place.
Old motor is two bolts being pulled away from being out and then I'll have to throw the spare in there.
Now if this goes well and the bike is running good but I have head gasket problems down the road I'm going to probably do the 10mm studs but for now I'll see how this goes!
