I have done the very same trip in car and, just regarding safety, I advise against you trying that with zero riding experience.
I believe the trip is too dangerous because there are many traffic and road hazards for your current skill level and knowledge to deal with in a safe manner.
Your level of risk will decrease drastically after a few months of intense practice and study and daily traffic commuting.
