[faster and faster] - 2016 Ducati Hypermotard 939, Hypermotard 939 SP, Hyperstrada 93

With a new Euro4-compliant engine and updated electronics and suspension etc., the 2016 Hypermotard 939, Hypermotard 939 SP and Hyperstrada 939 are more capable than ever before

For 2016, the Ducati Hypermotard and Hyperstrada have a new, Euro4 compliant 937cc Testastretta 11° V-twin that produces 113 horsepower, and the range now includes the Hypermotard 939, the sportier Hypermotard 939 SP and the more touring-oriented Hyperstrada 939. The other bits remain the same - steel tube trellis frame, 3-level ABS, 8-level traction control and three riding modes. Suspension components include a 43mm USD Kayaba fork at front and adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear, the bike rolls on 17-inch alloys shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II rubber, and the Hypermotard 939 weighs 181kg dry.

The harded-edged Hypermotard 939 SP loses a bit of weight, coming in at 178kg dry, and gets a fully adjustable 50mm USD Öhlins fork and fully adjustable Öhlins shock. With a slightly increased ride height, the Hypermotard 939 SP is capable of a 47.5° lean angle, which may be useful on the track if not the street. The SP also rides on 17-inch wheels, but with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP rubber.

The touring oriented Ducati Hyperstrada 939, on the other hand, gets 50-litre semi-rigid removable bags, raised handlebars (20mm higher than the Hypermotard), bigger windshield, wider seat, passenger grab handles and a centrestand. The bike rides on 17-inch alloys with Pirelli Scorpion Trail tyres, and the Hyperstrada 939 weighs 187kg dry.
