The switch is on the clutch lever perch with a little plunger that makes contact with the clutch lever. The switch will just have two wires and if you remove the left switch cluster and all wiring associated with it the bike does not know if you have the clutch pulled. I just followed the two wires back to where they plugged into the main harness under the tank and put a jumper in place of the clutch lever switch wires.

Now I can start the bike in gear in an emergency. Only problem is the bike always thinks the clutch is pulled so it can be started in gear even without the clutch lever being pulled. I am much less worried about that possibility though.

Sorry I cant tell you specifics about wire colors or positions in the plug. I did this a while ago and don't remember but its pretty easy to trace by looking at wire colors.
