I don't know who started "loose" vs "lose", but for some reason, even many obviously "english-first-languagers" (lol), seem to have adopted "loose" as the "new" lose

To me it's like "fingernails on a chalkboard".

And there's the now ever common practice of starting a post with "So ......"
