I was thinking possible hydrolock as well, or maybe a battery that is on the edge.
Has the oil level risen at any time?
I would get a volt meter and check the battery voltage. You should get 12.7V (100% charged) before cranking. Also test it when you hit the button - you should still be in the 10V range. If it drops off more than that the battery is bad.
Also check all of the connections if the battery checks out fine.
