Turn signal wiring issues

So I have a bit of a unique problem with my turn signals. Searching around hasn't really helped, because most tutorials assume that you still have your dash and stock turn signals. The issue I have is that I removed every fairing, and no longer have a dashboard at all, or any turn signals left. I am trying to wire in LED strip turn signals, only on the rear, no front. It's been so long since I removed the fairings and stock turn signals that I no longer remember what wires go to what, and I have no idea if or how my removal of the dash will affect this.

Basically what I'm looking for is the easiest way to rig up my rear turn signals, and which connectors to wire it in to. I think I wired them into one of my old turn signal connectors for testing, a grey two wire connector in the tail, but, naturally, they did not flash or even turn off, actually, just came on with 12v power and turned off when I turned the key off. I know that I need an electronic flasher relay, but I also need to know if I need to bypass any stock wiring to just make the rear turn signals work, and how.

Have poked around in the wiring diagram but I'm awful at reading them, plus it assumes that I have all the stock wiring hooked up properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm heading over to work on it after I make this post, so I can provide pictures if needed.

*Edit* Sorry for the double post.
