I replaced all my dash bulbs with LEDs. You just have to do the two diode and ground change to the turn signal indicator to isolate the two sides. Next time my speedometer or tachometer give me trouble, I'm going to replace the whole assembly with one of these:

It has all the indicators built in, so it'll be an easy swap for my non-fairing ninja 250.
