Good thinking and skills to swerve and save both of you. I hit a large racoon a couple of years ago. I hit my brakes fairly hard to slow, in hopes that he'd get out of the way, but right as I was about to strike, I just released the brakes and lifted my butt off the seat. I hit the gas a little after I felt the start of the impact. He was instantly dead and I was surprised that I was fine and the bike was fine. It was the largest thing I had ever ridden over on a street bike.
