Do you mean screw-heads on cap is buggered, or threads themselves in resevoir below?

Need to use JIS screwdriver tip instead of philips, probably too late now.

Using hammer impact driver will often remove these screws .

Worse case, use 4mm bit to drill out just heads of screw. Pop off cap and remove stubs of screws with pliers. Then replace screws with new ones using anti-seize.

All above procedures are still quicker and less effort than replacing master-cylinder. Bleeding from scratch with empty cylinder and line is pain. I suggest tying caliper up so bleed-screw is higher than MC.
