First of All, thanks for the thread. I did the same to mine. the difference is that I drilled and tapped a m6 x 1.0 hole and used a socket instead of a glued nut.

I also changed the oil for some 20w and it's perfect for me.

I used an M8x1.25 bolt, m10 nut as a spacer ans 2 M8 nuts to sandwitch the damper. The bracket is sloted to engage in the sheet metal and be secure.
