Good for you. I did this a couple of months back on mine, which was well overdue. I've had the engine now for several years (across multiple project-ninjas) and it's been beaten hard for unknown miles. All valves were on the tight side like yours; sure does run better now though!
That deep 9mm is sure a handy one to have for the job
